To use your own domain with your Plato hosted installation you'll need to follow the steps below.

NOTE These steps will require you are able to login to your web based control panel provided by your domain name registrar at the time you registered your domain name. This is necessary to manage your domain and update your domains DNS records.

Using your domain

Once you have access to your web based control panel to manage your domain name you will need to locate the area within your web based control panel that allows you to modify your domains DNS records. This is typically balled "Manage DNS" or "DNS Settings".

Top Level Domains

Let's say you wanted the domain http://mysupportsite.com/ to point to your Plato installation. In this example you would simply update the IP address for the C name record for this domain to point towards the IP address provided by InstantASP when you signed up for your hosted service.

Sub Domains

Let's say you wanted the domain http://support.mysite.com/ to point to your Plato installation. In this example you would simply add an A record to your DNS entries for support.mysite.com and point this towards the IP address provided by InstantASP when you signed up for your Plato hosted service.
