To clone the Plato repository locally open up your favourite command line or shell terminal and navigate to a folder on your hard drive where you would like to install Plato.

Once you've navigated to your target directory via the command line or terminal you can run the following command to clone Plato locally from GitHub to your hard drive...

git clone

This will begin downloading the Plato source code to the current directory. After you've successfully cloned the repository please see our quick start guide.

Before you can run this command successfully you will need to download & install Git. After installing Git use the Git Bash terminal utility installed as part of the Git installation to execute the command above.

Alternatively you can also use one of these more visually appealing GUI based Git clients.
